Family winter holidays
Fun, happiness and comfort at the Stubaital
When on holiday here at 4* Hotel Serles, you definitely have to try one of the four toboggan runs (one also floodlit) in Mieders. Those who like to walk can go by foot in the direction of the Serles, those who don’t can conveniently take the Serlesbahnen gondola lift. In total, there are 12 toboggan runs with over 43 km in length in the Stubaital. Don’t worry: You don’t have to bring your bulky sled from home, you can also rent it from one of the sports and rental stores. The fun stop at an alpine hut is of course obligatory. Warm up, enjoy and then go down to the valley in high spirits. Upon availability, Hotel Serles is happy to provide a sled for you free of charge.
Cross-country skiing with the family at the Stubaital
Whether skating or classic: The 62 kilometers of cross-country tracks at the Stubaital can be used by all generations. Those who stop for a delicious Kaiserschmarrn or cheese dumpling might be able to add one or two kilometers. Why not make it a race? This encourages the kids to try their best.
A dip in the water, even in winter
We at Hotel Serles do have a well-tempered indoor pool for the kids to swim and splash around. However, sometimes a bit more is needed – maybe a cool slide, or two, or three. Good news: Only a stone’s throw away, the StuBay water park with a large spa and sauna area, great slides and toddler area can be found.
Ice skating and curling – Stubai winter is fun!
Ice skating is not very difficult, fun, benefits the immune system and the condition. And: Ice skating is another fun activity in the Stubaital family winter. You can find ice rinks in Fulpmes, Neustift and Schönberg. Skates for the entire family can be rented directly at on site. The ice rinks in Neustift and Fulpmes are also the venues for the BIG Family Children’s Festivals. The artificial ice rink in Fulpmes can easily be reached by bus, which runs every 30 minutes.
If you are too cold outside, the Fulpmes climbing and bouldering gym might be the perfect place, with an almost 10 m high wall and 25 routes on different levels of difficulty. Even the youngest ones love climbing. In addition, it is great for one’s concentration, strength, and body feeling.
An exciting season: The Stubai winter
If you believe that kids are not interested in culture, you have never been to Innsbruck. The picturesque Old Town with its beautiful house fronts and the world-famous Golden Roof, the Bergisel Ski Jump and the Tyrol Panorama Museum, the stylish Maria Theresia Street or the many shopping malls add variation to your Stubai winter holidays.
The many Christmas markets are particularly worth seeing, with their atmospheric lighting, Tyrolean delicacies and nice souvenirs. For the children, there is pony riding, puppet theater, and a lot to discover in the Old Town’s Fairytale Alley. More will not be revealed – you best see for yourself.
Tyrolean evenings, the Easter market, numerous events and concerts make Innsbruck an absolute highlight for the entire family. Leave your car behind and take the bus or the Stubaital tram. This way, you don’t have to worry about parking and get off directly in the center of Innsbruck. Sterzing and Brixen in South Tyrol also have beautiful Christmas markets in winter. Here, you will experience a combination of Mediterranean atmosphere and South Tyrolean hospitality.
